Back in the saddle

After a long 4 days of battling a cold I jumped right in tonight with a solid legs and back workout, along with abs complements of P90X.  Plan on getting back in the pool tomorrow at lunch.  The wife is working on P90X during the week, so I kinda feel obligated to work out with her.  But, I think I can get away with running on the treadmill tomorrow night while she is working out.  I admit, if there is somebody nearby that is suffering with you, the workout seems to go a little easier.

I’m putting off buying a Tri-bike until later this summer.  Priority is to finish the basement and get my wife a new road bike.  She’s currently riding a hybrid road/trail bike, which is not conducive to the 100 mile “Century” rides.   I’m actually checking out a Madone WSD 5.2, which is a full carbon Trek road bike.  She’ll feel like she’s going from a Festiva to a Ferrari!

  • I know what you mean about hybrid’s not being the best for century rides. I have a Trek FX7.3 hybrid. I have done a half metric Century (31 miles) and even a full metric century (65 miles) on it but think that everyone would have long gone home at the finish line if I tried to do a full imperial century on it!
