Biggest loser?

January 31st, 2010

We’re doing The Biggest Loser at work. My good friend, Kara, and I are working together as a team. We weigh in on Friday mornings. I highly suggest doing this if you have enough people where you work interested. It’s fun, and everyone at work is eating well. My other good friend, Karen, is starting it where she works…….GO KAREN!!!! So, I was pleased that I lose another 2 pounds this week. Ya’ll can forget me posting my weight the way Scott did, I’m plenty motivated to get in shape without having to do that.

Getting in shape is definitely a group effort when you have kids. I was able to work out all the days I had planned to. I usually take Thursdays off. Scott and I have arranged for him to pick up the kids on Tuesday so I can go swimming after work. I’ve really started to look forward to those days. I’m hoping to add another day to swimming here in the near future.

I’ve picked the triathlon bike I want, now I’ve got to find the time to go and get it. Once I get it I’ll post a picture of it…..it’s so pretty!!! I’m VERY excited about  getting it, my butt is going to need as much time as possible to get use to the damn seat. There’s NOTHING comfortable about the seats on those bikes.

Here goes nothing…..

I’ve decided to do this blog about training to help me achieve my goal of competing in the 70.3 in Augusta at the end of Septmeber.  I wasn’t going to but my friend Karen asked if I would. The main reason not to do this is finding the time to blog, but it’s also the reason to do this. I’m wanting to use this in hopes to help other women out there who are, like myself,  wives, mothers, keeping a house, and working. So, the main question is, where do we find time to workout and train. For me it’s usually around 8:00 p.m. after my kids are in bed. I’ve been doing this for several years, and it works for me. I’ve tried  getting up real early before work to workout and I hated it. I’m much more motivated to workout later in the night.

So, I’ve got eight months to get back in shape and ready myself for the 70.3 Augusta. I know I can do it, but I’d like to do it within a good time. I haven’t decided what my goal time will be just yet. I’m hoping to write about finding the time to workout and working around my schedule, my husband’s schedule, the kid’s schedule. And it’s about to get even more complex with my girls getting ready to start soccer for the Spring. I also ask anyone who is in the same situation to write to give ideas or pointers that could help myself or some of my friends.

Welcome to my blog!
